How to narrow the field

Choosing across these families is mostly a driver and interface decision, not a brand decision. If your host runs embedded Linux or Android and already exposes USB, the USB-based platforms (AIC8800D40, RTL8852BE, RTL8811CU-class) integrate fastest. If your board is pin-constrained and the host talks SDIO or UART, the RTL8189/RTL8723-class modules fit better.

For WiFi 6 in dense client environments, look at the RTL8852BE and AIC8800-family modules. For dual-band 2.4 + 5.8 GHz designs, confirm antenna keep-out for both bands — a single-band antenna layout will not carry over. Every module ships with a datasheet, driver package guidance, and free samples for bench validation.

Common questions

What is the difference between the TL and chip model numbers?

TL identifies the TroLink module family; the number after it maps to the module class and the silicon inside (for example TL8800D4UA1 is built on the AIC8800D40). Your PO, datasheet and samples always reference both.

Do you provide drivers?

Driver packages are provided with the datasheet. Share your host OS and kernel version with our engineers and we will confirm the right package before you commit layout.

Can the pinout be customized?

Yes — pinout, antenna configuration and firmware can be adjusted under our OEM/ODM program. Start with samples of the closest standard module, then we scope the delta.
